Do you love spending money on getting the best for your house? Have you spent quite a lot on buying great furniture, great light fixtures and lamps, and have you painted your walls in the most unique colors, but still think that your house doesn’t look quite "finished" or "complete"? I know where you might have fallen short at. You probably have left out on decorating your walls. Do take a look at the pictures below. Try utilizing these ideas to give your home a look that is inspired by the best talents in the interior designing industry.

The Living Room

Clearly, the metal wall art items are creating a special ambience for this living room. The decorative mirrors, with the most unconventional designs, create a certain depth in this room. The reflecting light gives a feeling of extra space, making the room look bigger than it actually is.

The metal wall art adds a new dimension to this beautiful bedroom. Imagine this room without the wall art, and you will instantly understand why wall art can be so important to the overall look of the room.

 Functional Mirror

The functional mirror on the wall to the left has the most exquisite carvings in its frame. The mirror is positioned near the ceiling lamp which helps accentuating its beautiful appearance, while reflecting the light, and making the room look even brighter. The decorative mirror to the right is a perfect addition to an otherwise glaringly empty wall.

The Dining Space
 Functional Mirror

This functional mirror above the dining table does much more than what a mirror can do – it creates the most distinctive look for an otherwise flat space.

 Decorative Wall Art

This space would not look as unique and beautiful, if the wall art had not been there on the wall. This wall art can be hung either horizontal or vertical, depending on the space available.

Many options to choose from to spice up your interior. Say goodbye to "boring walls" and welcome this simple "wall art solution". Walking into the room of your choice decorated with this fine wall art will be so refreshing, it will put a smile on your face every time you look at it.

Are you planning a makeover for your home, and wondering which style matches best with your personality? Or you are just curious to know the difference between the various styles? Here is a compilation of what each style means. The main reason of this article is to provide you with the correct information in order to make an informed decision on your home makeover.

Modern Home Décor Style
In the arena of home décor, modern refers to a style of furniture that emerged in the late 19th century that was heavily influenced by modernism. This was a complete departure from the carved woods and richly patterned fabrics that were prominent during the earlier eras. The modern style of home décor emphasizes the glittering simplicity and geometry of polished metal and plastics. The emphasis of modern furniture is on functionality and accessibility, rather than on craftsmanship and eloquence, typical for the earlier era. Modern style is a static term that reached its peak during the 1950s.

The Eileen Gray table is a classic example of modern furniture. Designed in 1927 as a bedside table, the asymmetry of this piece is characteristic of Gray’s non-conformist design style. Notably, this table has the functionality to adjust its height. You can use it as a side table next to your couch or put it right next to your bed and enjoy your breakfast in bed.

Contemporary Home Décor Style
Unlike the modern style, the contemporary home décor style is a dynamic style that keeps changing with people’s latest preferences. Contemporary furniture designers and manufacturers continue to evolve their designs. They keep seeking new materials, produce unique forms, while employing simplicity and lightness, in preference to heavy ornament. Yesterday’s contemporary is today’s vintage.
The contemporary chair shown in the image below adds shine and flair to any décor. The chair is made of aluminium which makes it extremely light weight, it has grey plastic feet to provide cushion against the floor surface, and is polished with a matt finished – a feature unheard of in the 19th century.

Mid-century Home Décor Style
The mid-century style describes mid-20th century developments in modern design from roughly 1933-1965. This style is now recognized as a significant design movement. This style is characterized by simplicity, democratic design, and natural shapes.
The egg chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 is a fine example of mid-century furniture.

Eclectic Home Décor Style
The eclectic style encompasses a mixture of elements from a variety of periods and styles to create something that is new and original. A lot of efforts, thoughts, and creativity goes into creating an eclectic style that doesn’t look chaotic.

The living room shown in the picture above has a mix of different styles, ranging from the modern-style sectional sofa, the contemporary centre table, and the mid-century wall decoration. A harmonious mix of elements from different styles is typically represented in an eclectic style.

Different interesting styles to choose from! If you like all of them, like I do, the eclectic style will be your best choice.

Everyone who cares about home interior loves decorating their home. I personally enjoy buying things for my house as much as I like buying clothes for myself. I’m sure there are many of you who feel the same way. What if this wonderful experience can be made even more exciting by involving your life partner in the buying process?
Home decoration can be a “project” where both of you are stakeholders (I start to sound like a business woman). Coming back from a day’s work to a beautifully decorated, neat space, full of “feel good” things around you, does make you feel better and will help you to relax from a long busy day at work. So decorating your home in a way that you both enjoy and feel comfortable is a matter of finding a style that matches the personalities of you both. Shopping together to find these matching pieces can become a nice bonding experience. What’s more is that this experience can also help you understand the choices of your partner. Maybe, you thought that your partner likes things that are jazzy and colorful (because you wear jazzy clothes, and he loves you!), but during your home shopping escapade, you come to realize that you partner actually likes calm, soothing, sober colors. Try to identify these subtle nuances about him through shopping for your home together, and you will start to get to know him better.
Wouldn’t it be a romantic idea to buy one piece of furniture or decoration every year as a couple and then gift it to each other. There are so many things to choose from to help you create that pleasantly comfortable feeling. Try one the indoor fireplaces, I love those. They look beautiful! You can watch the dancing flames, while snuggling together. Or give your home a makeover by changing the wallpaper. Remove the old wallpaper and hang the new carefully picked wallpaper together. These kinds of activities may be more bonding than you think and definitely really rewarding after the job is done.
Here is a suggestion: On Valentine’s Day make it a ritual to shop together for one additional piece for your home. It will become a great tradition of creating a cozy home by choosing/doing things together.
